If your child is to be absent it is vital that contact is made with the office prior to 8.55am. This eliminates the worry of child security and ensures the health and safety of your child. Absences can either be phoned in (294 8502), e-mailed (email@example.com) or sent via the “Absences” option on the school website.
If your home circumstances change, please notify the office so that our records can be updated. The correct contact number is so important in an emergency, or if the child is unwell, and that person must be available to collect the child from school if necessary.
AFTER SCHOOL COLLECTION:
Children should wait on the concrete beside the dental clinic (Young Crescent) for their ride home after school each day. Alternatively, the York Street entrance (off Sutton Rd) is also a convenient drop off /pick up point. If children need to cross Great South Road they MUST use the patrolled crossing.
If your child attends an after school facility, please ensure you notify them if your child will not be attending on any given afternoon.
A mobile Dental Van visits our School periodically to check each student’s teeth. If any treatment is required, this is carried out at the Beach Road Clinic. For in-between treatment or advice phone 299 8112.
School policy requires that all medication be dispensed from the school office. Please send inhalers in a named plastic bag with clear instructions. If your child requires medication during school hours, the Medicine Request form below must be completed and returned to the office along with the medication bearing the necessary dosage/times etc.
Our first aid room offers treatment for accidents that occur during the school day. The First Aid monitors have had first aid training and most staff hold current first aid certificates. In the event of a more major accident you will be notified as soon as possible. We ask that plasters be applied from home to any open wounds before children come to school – thanks.
